Brookesia ambreensis est une espèce de sauriens de la famille des Chamaeleonidae[1].

Aire de répartition de l'espèce Brookesia ambreensis selon l'UICN (consulté le 11 janvier 2013).


Cette espèce est endémique de la région de Diana à Madagascar[1]. Elle a été découverte dans le parc national de la Montagne d'Ambre.



Description |


Ce caméléon nain est de petite taille, diurne, et vit au sol ou sur les branches basses des forêts.



Étymologie |


Son nom d'espèce, composé de ambre et du suffixe latin -ensis, « qui vit dans, qui habite », lui a été donné en référence au lieu de sa découverte.
