I wanted to tailor my reference for journal requirements, and realized that using biblatex will be more intuitive. I tried following instructions here What to do to switch to biblatex? but pdflatex won't print out the reference.

biblatex
requires a very different workflow for processing and typesetting references and has a much tighter version dependency. I would guess that most journals that want to process your.tex
files will not be happy withbiblatex
unless they explicitly say otherwise. See for example tex.stackexchange.com/q/12175/35864. If the journal says nothing on the subject, please contact the editor before you proceed, it would be a shame if you wasted time and effort on gettingbiblatex
to work only to find out they can't process your manuscript with it.
