Jean Lescarts, né à Mons en 1851 et mort le 9 décembre 1925, était un homme politique belge de tendance libérale.



Biographie |


Jean Lescarts était docteur en droit et avocat. Il fut échevin, puis bourgmestre de Mons de 1905 jusqu'à sa mort. On retient surtout de lui son implication dans la sauvegarde du patrimoine montois.



Notoriété |


  • Le Musée du Folklore et de la Vie Montoise est aussi baptisé Maison Jean Lescarts en son honneur.

  • Il existe aussi une rue Jean Lescarts dans Mons intra muros.
